ULL Annual Chapter Scholarship Program

Through our internationally mandated programs, including specifically our annual chapter scholarship program, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Upsilon Lambda Lambda graduate chapter, has a rich heritage of service in the Kanto Plains area and communities across mainland Japan.

 

The mission of our annual chapter scholarship program is to provide college scholarships to Kanto Plains Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) graduating seniors through an essay writing contest and character interview process. Scholarship awards and amounts are decided internally by Upsilon Lambda Lambda chapter scholarship committee, based on review of essay submissions and informal interview, if necessary. The chapter awards individual non-renewable scholarships.

 

Scholarship recipients must plan to attend a four-year, accredited U.S. college or university The school counselor or authorized administrator must verify the graduating senior intent post-graduation to be eligible to receive an scholarship award (Intent to Enroll Form or Enrollment Verification Letter).

 

The scholarship is named in honor of Navy Captain (Dr.) Kedric Webster, 1972 - 2017. A native of Tuskegee, Ala., Brother Webster served in the Navy for 27 years and earned his medical degree from Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Maryland. He was one of the five founding members of the Upsilon Lambda

 

School counselors or authorized administrators will be notified of the contest winners and if an interview is required. Upon notification, the school counselor or authorized administrator must verify within five days the student's eligibility to receive the award. Scholarship checks will be presented at the school's scheduled End of Year Awards Program.
